Principal Miss Traci
Principal Traci Lockett has been dancing for over 30 years performing internationally as well as in the UK. She toured with the well known and respected song, dance and illusion show "Kicks and Tricks" for over a decade who performed alongside comedians Jim Davidson, Ronnie Corbet, Les Dennis as well as performing at the Smash Hits tour with Liberty X and alongside Bucks Fizz, Catrina and the Waves and Doctor and the Medics. She also joined the circus and performed in Alfredo Nock's circus in Switzerland.
Traci trained at Debut Academy of Dance and Drama under the skillful tuition of her mother, Principal Linda Lockett. Traci taught for many years at the highly respected Academy who produced some talented and professional performers who have gone on to do amazing things such as performing in pop videos which includes Kylie Minogues "Can't get you out of my head", "An audience With...Kylie Minogue", The BBC adverts, "Top Of The Pops" dancing alongside many pop stars and "The X Factor" Backing Dancers, just to name a few!!
Traci is a member of British Theatre Dance Association. Fully qualified and registered teacher. And is also a freelance teacher/choreographer for other schools, organisations and professional touring shows
Miss Natalie - Senior Teacher
Miss Natalie has been dancing since the age of 3 and trained at Debut Academy of Dance and Drama. Miss Natalie was the first student at Debut to achieve her teaching qualifications through British Theatre Dance Association setting a very high standard in the school. She choreographed many routines for the annual productions, assisted in gala weekend shows and prepared and supported many students through examinations. Miss Natalie has over 18 years experience working with children and families and holds a BTEC Diploma in child care. She was a registered childminder before becoming a Director with Scentsy. Miss Natalie has a passion for encouraging children's creativity and feels privileged to be part of The Lockett Academy Journey.
Miss Janine - Senior Teacher
Miss Janine has been dancing since the age of 3 and trained at Debut Acadamy of Dance and Drama gaining her BTDA Teachers qualification in 2004. Janine went on to further her dance and fitness qualification gaining Level 2 Instructing Exercise to music and Level 3 Advanced Instructors qualifications in 2005 with the UK’s leading training provider and then moved on to work for them as Company Trainer gaining Certificate in Preparing to Teach in Lifelong Learning and Award in Education and Training.
Miss Janine is currently studying Introduction to Physiotherapy to learn more about muscular, skeletal systems and injury prevention which will allow her to apply when teaching all forms of dance and exercise.
The Lockett Academy is extremely lucky to have such a versatile teacher and educator in dance injury prevention.
Miss Linda - Senior Teacher
Miss Linda has over 45 years experience working with children. And with Mr Alan, they were Latin American and Ballroom champions in the 1980's. She was principal to the highly respected and established Debut Academy of Dance and Drama for almost 30 years and examiner for British Theatre Dance Association until she retired in 2010. Her very talented pupils went on to pass high graded examinations and teaching qualifications as well as going on to work (and still are working) in the professional entertainments business on cruise ships, holiday camps, touring professional shows, choreographing as well as performing. Students have also appeared on Top of the Pops, Smash hits tour, an audience with, BBC advert promotions, The x factor dancers, touring with established famous artists such as Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams as well as co-choreographing the box office smash hit film The Greatest Showman.
Miss Linda is a very highly respected teacher in our academy and is still dancing and competing with Mr Alan and currently ranked 4th in the British Latin American and Ballroom championships.
Miss Sammy - Senior teacher & vocal coach
Miss Sammy has been dancing since the age of 3 having trained at Debut Academy of Dance and Drama and going on to dance professionally at the age of 17 where she joined Miss Traci on tour with the internationally renowned illusion show "kicks and Tricks".
Having always had a passion for singing Miss Sammy went on to become Europe's #1 Kylie Minogue tribute act after forming her production company Desire Productions, directing and producing shows internationally for several years.
Having worked with many professional artists Miss Sammy is now very excited to be joining The Lockett Academy family to pass on her experience to the dancers of the future.
